Easter Seals Summer Camp 2011
Easter Seals, the largest provider of recreation and camping services for those with disabilities, has been helping individuals with autism and special needs for nearly 90 years. Easter Seals’ Summer Camps are both day and residential, designed for children and adults of all types and levels of abilities. Several Easter Seals Summer Camps are available during Vista’s scheduled summer break weeks.
Camp locations include Harrisburg, Gettysburg, York and State College, and are designed for ages 5 to 21. Additionally, parents are able to register their child for an entire camp period, a partial day, or just a session, so as not to interfere with their regular education calendar.
Possible program options include learning to ride a bike, swimming, group games, mini golf, canoeing and more. Campers will also learn and participate within a setting that includes challenges, outdoor fun and building social relationships. Individuals needing one-on-one behavioral management support are able to have a non-parental support person at each day of camp.
Easter Seals is dedicated to the policy that no camper will ever be denied participation in a program for lack of their ability to pay. For more information, contact Matt Ernst, Director of Therapeutic Recreation at (717) 741-3891 or click on Camps and Recreations at www.easterseals.com.
