Applied behavior analysis (ABA) relies upon repeated measurement of designated responses and the use of these data to guide clinical decision making usually through the visual analysis of graphed data. This program reviews the most common methods of measurement and forms of graphs used for visual analysis. Baseline logic is reviewed and specific methods for assessing within- and between-phase data patterns are presented. Equal Interval and Standard Celeration Charts are compared. Participants will have an opportunity to practice: selecting appropriate measures of behavior; designing graphs and plotting data; describing within-phase data patterns by using the concepts level, trend/celeration, variability/bounce; and describing between-phase data patterns by using the concepts immediacy/jump, change in celeration/turn, comparing trend/celeration and variability/bounce, and overlap of range.
