Hold Me Tight 8-Week Class at Philhaven: Conversations for Connection

This 8-week session of the Hold Me Tight: Conversations for Connection classes is designed for parents whose child or children have autism or developmental disabilities. You will learn how to strengthen your emotional connection as a couple, meet each other’s needs, and discover how to be more empathetic, trusting and open with each other. Renewed emotional connections allow for a greater ability to handle the day-to-day stress and problems of life and the home.
The classes center on Dr. Sue Johnson’s book Hold Me Tight: Seven Conversations for a Lifetime of Love. The seven conversations covered are:
• Recognizing Demon Dialogues
• Finding the Raw Spots
• Revisiting a Rocky Moment
• Hold Me Tight
• Forgiving Injuries
• Bonding Through Sex and Touch
• Keeping Your Love Alive
Sessions will include lecture, group discussion, and multi-media presentations.
