Information Technology Technician

INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY TECHNICIAN

This challenging position provides professional Information Technology support services across our campus and the larger Vista community.  Primary responsibilities are to provide end user support for our distributed work force in a Helpdesk environment.  Candidates for this role must be able to communicate clearly, both orally and in writing, be self-motivated and exhibit strong collaboration skills.  The Helpdesk delivers end-to-end IT support.  By partnering with end-users the Helpdesk ensures all incidents are analyzed, resolved, and reported back within a reasonable time frame.

Technical expertise requirements include strong technical knowledge of MS Office 2007 Suite, MS Windows XP and MS Windows 7, administrative knowledge of Microsoft Windows Server 2003 & 2008 (Active Directory, DNS, multiple DHCP scopes, permissions, etc.), fundamental knowledge of TCP/IP networks (routing/switching, cabling, PoE), familiarity with remote support tools (Bomgar, LogMeIn, CrossLoop, etc.), and a comprehensive knowledge of Apple computers and handheld devices (OSX platform & iOS platform.)


QUALIFICATIONS:
Minimum of an Associate’s degree in Information Systems / Computer Science or equivalent work experience.  Bachelors degree preferred.  Demonstrated customer service focus.
Helpdesk software experience (Remedy, Spiceworks, SysAid) is desired.  The ability to quickly diagnose support issues and determine if they can be resolved immediately or if the issue needs to be escalated is critical.  Must be dependable and flexible.
